She plays the iconic Scarlett O’Hara made famous by Margaret Mitchell’s book of the same name. The film is a powerful epic with many great performances by the whole cast but it belongs to the dynamic Vivien Leigh. THE WAR OF THE ROSES (1989)

 

Two films about marital divorce that tell stories that are 180 degrees apart from each other. The first film, Kramer versus Kramer, is a tender and very personal story of a wife and mother (Meryl Streep) who has an identity crisis and decides to leave her marriage and abandon both her husband (Dustin Hoffman) and her young son (Justin Henry). Part of her problem is that she feels her husband is putting his successful career as an advertising executive first and before his family and not listening to her own creative needs to also be professionally productive.
