THE TEN BEST WESTERN FILMS OF ALL TIME

Western films have been with us a very long time ever since the invention of the movies. In fact, the very first silent film that had any kind of story attached to it was a short western called The Great Train Robbery made in 1903. Although the real days of the great Old West were short in duration, lasting only during the latter half of the 19th century starting after the civil war, we tend to think that they existed for a much longer period of time. I think Hollywood has had something to do with that perception not only of its length but also of its accuracy.

The new millennium started out in 2001 with an unthinkable and horrendous disaster to have ever hit The United States of America. It was worse than the surprise attack on Pearl Harbor because it took place on our homeland, on the World Trade Center, which was a place of civilians and not military personnel. For something like this to have happened, someone, somewhere had dropped the ball and had not done their job. The country came together in the aftermath as people usually do in a tragedy, but then became divided and polarized because of a long war that may have not been necessary.

Favorite Movies of the 2000’s

Not necessarily the movies that were Oscar nominees or #1 box office sales, but the favorite movies by year of this unbiased writer.  And yes, I am a male in his late twenties.
